Advanced Engineering at Birmingham NEC 2/3 November

Plastron took to the lights of NEC last week as a first step to bringing our ESA BIC project to wider audiences. In collaboration with co-BIC peers, GravitiLab Aerospace and key partners, European Astrotech and Argenta, Plastron set up a stand, courtesy of the Advanced Engineering team, to promote the role and importance of space hardware R&D, test and qualification.

In this group, we all members play a critical part in the end-to-end narrative of space hardware R&D. Whilst our project is focused on developing a meaningful manner to familiarise and support product development in line with ECSS space standards, Argenta and European Astrotech provide specialist test and evaluation capabilities for the new industry niche of small format components and sub-systems. Meanwhile, GravitiLab, retain the honour of completing qualification of new hardware on their sub-orbital platform, ISAAC.

We were also able to present our new 3D render of the Plastron facility, as configured from hardware development & qualification. You can see the video below, produced with support from ESA-BIC and STFC Daresbury.
